American Heart Association ACLS Certification - 2 Year Certification

Recommended for: All healthcare professionals and medical personnel who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

The ACLS Renewal Class covers:

  • Recotgnition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Airway Management
  • ACLS Pharmacology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) review (NO CERT)
  • Management of acute coronary syndromes and stroke
  • How to be both a leader and a team member in a resuscitation team

**This renewal ACLS class is for those who have a current ACLS certification card.

This class is approximately 6 hours.

 

The course provides training for:

  • Healthcare providers whose occupation or volunteer activities require airway management skills 
  • Professionals in the field of resuscitation and airway management

Airway Management is a unique program designed to give students the chance to learn, practice and demonstrate their ability in applying many airway skills used in resuscitation. Students increase their awareness of various airway products and skills required.

American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider - 2 Year Certification

Recommended for: MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Medical Personnel

The BLS CPR Class covers:

  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
  • Conscious and Unconscious Choking for victims of all ages
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and special considerations
  • Breathing Barriers, Bag Valve Masks, and 2 Rescuer CPR
  • Cardiopulmonary Emergencies and Special Resuscitation Situations

AHA BLS Instructor Renewal

The AHA BLS Instructor Renewal course evaluates the methods of instruction needed to effectively conduct resuscitation courses. In order to attend this course, instructors must have current AHA BLS Instructor status and meet the instructor renewal criteria as outlined by the AHA Program Administration Manual. If you are not affiliated with Heartsavers Training Center, please provide approval from your current Training Center to attend this course.

Note: Upon completion of the course students are issued an AHA BLS Instructor card valid for two years. Heartsavers is an approved AHA Training Center.

 

AHA Program Administration

The BLS Instructor Renewal Course is designed to assist American Heart Association (AHA) BLS instructors maintain current instructor status.

Prerequisites for BLS Instructor Renewal Course

  1. A CURRENT AHA BLS Instructor Card
  2. Attend updates as required within the previous 2 years.
  3. Be monitored while teaching before instructor status expiration. The first monitoring after the initial instructor course does not satisfy this requirement.  You must provide your completed Instructor Monitoring Form with registration.
  4. You  must also complete 4 classes in your 2 year certification period to complete your renewal

During Class Students must:

  1. Successfully demonstrate all provider skills
  2. Successfully complete the provider written examination
  3. Successfully complete the instructor written examination

 

The American Heart Association/ ASHI Heartsaver CPR/AED Course teaches CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants, plus relief of choking for all ages.

First Aid course under AHA/ASHI guidelines will cover general guidelines of first aid, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED

The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course provides first responders with training in basic first aid and CPR AED procedures -- including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA -- in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course covers:

  • First Aid Basics
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Injury Emergencies
  • Environmental Emergencies
  • Adult CPR AED
  • Adult Choking
  • Child CPR AED
  • Infant CPR
  • Child and Infant Choking

The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including:

  • security and airline personnel
  • construction workers
  • camp counselors
  • police and firefighters
  • teachers and day-care workers
  • aerobics teachers/physical-fitness trainers
  • other individuals who want or need first-aid training.

 

 

American Heart Association PALS Certification - 2 Year Certification  

Recommended for: All healthcare professionals and medical personnel who may respond to pediatric emergencies.

The PALS Class covers:

The systematic approach to Pediatric Assessment
Management of pediatric respiratory emergencies
Vascular access (Including intraosseous training)
Airway Management
PALS Pharmacology
Basic Life Support (BLS) review
Numerous pediatric case studies and simulations
How to be both a leader and a team member in a pediatric resuscitation team

**This class is for those who have never taken PALS before or have an expired PALS certification card.

This class is approximately 12 hours.

Recommended for any healthcare professionals and medical personnel who may respond to pediatric emergencies.

The PALS Class covers:

  • The systematic approach to Pediatric Assessment
  • Management of pediatric respiratory emergencies
  • Vascular access (Including intraosseous training)
  • Airway Management
  • PALS Pharmacology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) review
  • Numerous pediatric case studies and simulations
  • How to be both a leader and a team member in a pediatric resuscitation team

American Heart Association Pediatric First Aid and CPR - 2 Year Certification

Recommended for: Daycare, Preschools, School Bus Drivers, Babysitters, Child Care Workers, and Parents.

** This class meets the requirements for the CPR and First Aid portion of California Title 22 and EMSA for Child Care Providers.

The Pediatric First Aid and CPR Class covers:

  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
  • Conscious and Unconscious Choking for victims of all ages
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and special considerations
  • Basic First Aid (with an emphasis on most common pediatric emergencies)
  • Pediatric Asthma and Anaphylaxis

 

**This class is NOT for Healthcare Providers (Please take our BLS course if you are in healthcare!)
